Kimberly traveled and had an extended stay during college in South Africa during Apartheid and lived in a black township. This was life changing for her. She has also lived in Costa Rica and has traveled to Europe, but the soft place of her heart is in Africa. Her husband is Ethiopian and they have been married for 14 years. In 2008 they adopted a baby boy from Ethiopia to add to their family of six. The were able to take their whole family and it was then that Kimberly saw even more the needs of the orphans in Ethiopia.
